If the H1 - transfer gets denied, isn't there an option of filling a appeal? I guess, one has 15 days to get out of the country, but he or she ca file & appeal & stay in the country but cannot work...

Yes, you can find another employer willing to hire you and sponsor your H1. Since you have an approved I-140, your new employer can use a copy of your I-140 approval notice and get a fresh 3 yr H1 extension
b) When I do a H1 transfer now, Will I get my H1 date till Apr 2012 as per my current H1 approval notice or just for the few more months I had on my original H1B?

You cannot directly file your I-485 when your PD is current if you change employers. I met with a potential client who is an illegal immigrant living in the US. She has a child who is a US citizen. The father was voluntarily deported and the mother gave him permission to take the child back to their home country to visit the grandparents. The father was supposed to make sure the child returned to the US within 3 months. It has been 6 months. If my client files an application under the Hague Convention on the Civil Aspects of International Child Abduction, will the US Government begin deportation proceedings?

My new EB2 I - 140 got approved with my old NIW-I-140 priority Date March 29th 2006 which is current for India now.
My I-485 (EB3) is pending throgh my spouse and I am the secondary applicant
Can I file another I-485 with my new I-140 (EB2) ?
Is there any way we can link my existing I-485 with my new I-140 (EB2)
Appreciate your suggestions.

Please ask your lawyer whether the H1 is being filed as " change of status" or "consular processing". If it is consular processing then she will have to go and get the stamping done. As per my knowledge if H1 is rejected she can still enter on H4 since it is still valid. I assume the H1 petition will be filed on 1st April. If she enters after that date then most probably it will have to be consular processing

L1s don't visit these sites because most them don't apply for green card. L1s are majorly used by big companies like TCS, Infosys, etc. Those big corporates won't apply for GC. Very rarely based on relationship and long service some apply for GC.
I see lots of L1 bashing. In reality L1s are pitier than H1s. L1 cannot transfer their visa and change job as H1s do. They have to wait till H1 quota to open up for changing jobs. They run in a rat race to keep their manager happy to get better rating in their appraisal.
PS: I am on H1 status.

AFAIK, If your H1 petition is an extension with the same employer and its 240 days past your I-94 expiry date, you should consider stop working. If your petition is H1 transfer, you can continue to work until the decision. As OP suggested, do the premium and get it over with. IMO, it is worth putting that 1k rather than living in anticipation. Good luck.

I think they carry only their own documents + hdfc receipt etc stuff in original.
All other documents (that are not issued to them) are a copy e.g. your I797 notice, copy of your passport, visa etc.
Your Birth certificate is one such document hence copy should be fine. And also your passport also has a name of each parent.

That was an old news. Around 60000 visa's were pre-allocated to pending applications before July 2nd, 2007. I would be very surprised if the numbers are not much more than 18000 for India EB3. India used to get around 40-45 K visas per year for all EB categories before 2005 since the soft quota was introduced. All these numbers are avilable on USCIS website.
How can India get more than its quota ie 9% per country limit??

I want to change my job from an university to a company.
I know I have to apply for industrial H1b , but I am not sure whether I MUST wait till 1st Oct to start work.
